Back in the blogsphere

Well, I've been away for a while - from the blogging world that is. I sound like I used to blog quite a bit, but truth be told, I have only made a handful of posts so far!

So what has happened since I last posted here.

Well, my family came to visit - that was pretty cool. They spent a couple of weeks in the US, but travelled the first week (to Boston and then to California), before spending the last week with me. They had come over last year at the same time, but because of my hectic work schedule, I had not been able to take much time off (1 or 2 days). This time, I took 6 days off, and spent that time with them. I firmly believe that you should be true to your job, and I always have been - however, my family is more important than that, so I am glad that I made that decision.

My cousins from DC had come down too, and so had another cousin who now works in Columbus, Ohio. I had not seen him in about 11 years! He is now 26 years old, and in love with a girl called Annie, who he plans to marry in the next couple of years! Lucky guy. Here am I, at the tail end of 32, still alone.
I now have 4 younger cousins that are married, two of which have children. That can sometimes be so depressing - not that I am unhappy for any of them - but it can sometimes emphasise the fact that I am still single.

Haven't seen any good movies recently - the last movie that I had seen was Transporter 2 - that was an enjoyable movie, with a couple of James Bond style outlandish stunts. I had fun watching it! I would like to go and see the "40 year old virgin" starring Steve Carrell. It is supposed to be very funny. The funniest movie that I have seen this year is the "Wedding Crashers" starring Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson. I laughed so much during that movie that I nearly hurt myself!

Ok, I need to get back to work. The only other thing worth mentioning is that I got my bike back on the road. I had initially planned on fixing it up myself, but when it came to cleaning and rejetting the carbs, I called it quits. About $450 later, I got my bike back, and am now riding her back to work. The weather has been very good for riding too, and as it gets colder, it will get even better. I'll try and post a picture of her before the end of the week.

I almost forgot the song of the day. Hmmm...what should I use?
Got it!!!
I saw a televised Crash Test Dummies concert a couple of weeks back - still have it on my DVR. So how about Superman's song?

Tarzan wasn't a ladies' man
He'd just come along and scoop 'em up under his arm like that
Quick as a cat in the jungle
But Clark Kent, now there was a real gent
He would not be caught sittin' around in no Junglescape
Dumb as an ape doing nothing

[Chorus:]
Superman never made any money
For saving the world from Solomon Grundy
And sometimes I despair the world will never see another man like him

Hey Bob, Supe had a straight job
Even though he could have smashed through any bank in the United States,
Why he had the strength, but he would not
Folks said his family were all dead
Their planet crumbled but Superman, he forced himself
To carry on, forget Krypton, and keep going

Tarzan was king of the jungle and Lord over all the apes
But he could hardly string together four words: "I Tarzan, You Jane."

Sometimes when Supe was stopping crimes
I'll bet that he was tempted to just quit and turn his back on man,
Join Tarzan in the forest
But he stayed in the city, and kept on changing clothes
In dirty old phonebooths till his work was through
And nothing to do but go on home

Song for the day - Superman's song by the Crash Test Dummies

Have a good day, whoever you are, and take care :o)
